Posted 3/27/20: The Town of Edisto Beach has asked us to distribute the following regarding the sewer system: As toilet paper continues to be in short supply, we have concerns that the Town’s sewer system will be blocked by the flushing of other items that cause issues. This will also impact those on septic systems. Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. The following items cause issues with the sewer lines and should not be flushed:
• Wipes (even those labeled “flushable”)
• Tissues
• Paper towels, rags, and disposable dust towels
• Tampons and sanitary napkins
• Make up wipes
• Condoms
Place these items in the garbage. If we lose our sewer system, it could have major impacts for everyone.
