Sunday Debris Removal in Ocean Ridge

Our Ocean Ridge landscapers will be picking up yard debris this Sunday, September 24, as part of our effort to have debris from Hurricane Irma removed as quickly as possible.  This event will end Sunday debris removal activity in Ocean Ridge.

Hurricane Irma Ocean Ridge Debris Clean Up

Representatives of the MPOA met with Town officials this morning and have shared the following information:

  • The Town has placed containers outside of the gate at the Convenience Center by Town Hall for depositing trash and debris. The containers are individually marked for the type of debris to be deposited in each container: yard, household items, household trash, metal/appliances (white goods) and construction. NO ELECTRONICS CAN BE DEPOSITED (TVs, computers, microwaves etc.)
  • For those who have placed trash and debris curbside, EVERYTHING MUST BE SEPARATED, i.e. yard debris, construction debris, appliances, and household goods. Otherwise, none of the trash or debris will be picked up by the Town’s contracted waste hauler.
  • No curbside disposal of electronics is available. (Charleston County’s Convenience Center located on Route 174 accepts such items).
  • Leaves and other small debris must be placed in PAPER bags on the owner’s property.Plastic bags are not acceptable. Items placed on common ground or vacant lots will not be picked up.
  • Pickup schedule will remain the same – Mondays and Fridays for trash; Tuesdays for yard debris pickup.
  • For other questions, please contact the Town of Edisto Beach. Thanks for following these guidelines. Good luck with your cleanup.

Yard Debris Reminder

Ocean Ridge property owners are reminded that any yard debris must be placed on the edge of their own property and NOT in vacant lots or on common ground to be eligible for pickup. Your cooperation is appreciated.
